Once established, Hybrid Poplar is a super fast growing tree putting on 5-8' of growth every year if you keep the weeds and grasses down. This tree can be 30' tall and 15-20' across in as soon as 6-8 years making it the fastest shade you can get. And with bright yellow fall foliage, its a beautiful addition to any landscape. With a life span of 50 yrs, make sure you have slower growing shade trees nearby as an instant replacement when its time to take down your Poplar. Oak, Maple, or Weeping Willow are great choices.
