Pronounced, "Bett-uh" not "Bait-uh", this grape was the most popular northern grown grape in the 20th century. It is a cross between Concord and a wild riverbank grape called Carver to create an incredibly vigorous, ultra hardy grape that can be successfully grown in Finland. This nearly black grape matures in late September with a nearly classic Concord flavor sporting a tart skin that is strikingly delicious. Makes fantastic juice, jelly, and wine. Beta grows up to 20' long and is a heavy producer of medium sized grapes in tight clusters. Everybody should have this plant on their property.
