Among the oldest living in the Oak family, White Oaks can live to several hundred years and grow a 6' diameter trunk. The acorns of this tree are sweet and edible, being the lowest tannin levels of the oaks. Deer favor the White Oak acorns over all other food sources and will travel some distance to find them. The growth habit is even and round to over 80' tall. Thrives in zones 3-8
